Usually it's a team squeezing an activity into a lunch hour, or a planner working with a group that only has a room booked for 60 minutes between meetings. Two hours isn't always realistic, even when the idea itself is a hit.

Oil pastel drawing runs on the same idea as our painting events — a professional artist leads your group through a guided piece, step by step, no experience required — but it's built around a 1-hour format instead of two. Same structure, same guided approach, smaller time commitment.
It's not a stripped-down version of the painting event. Oil pastels are just a different medium: bold, blendable, and quick to pick up, which makes them a genuinely good fit for a shorter session rather than a compromise to fit one. A group can go from blank page to a finished piece in an hour without the session feeling rushed, because the medium itself moves faster than paint does.
Where this fits that painting doesn't
A few situations where we've seen this work especially well:
Lunch-hour team activities. A guided creative session that starts and ends inside a standard lunch break, without anyone needing to reschedule an afternoon.
Add-ons to a bigger event. Companies running an all-day offsite or summit sometimes want a lighter creative block worked into the agenda — an hour between sessions rather than a dedicated half-day.
